## Generate and place a video-link into emails <a name="create-a-video-link"></a>

### Make a link<a name="make-a-link"></a>

You've got a link from our team via email, where you can create video link:
https://vidmoola.com/?vendor=your-vendor-id

Make video-link only using this page, and not from directly accessing the vidmoola.com site, otherwise only one user can watch the video.

You got a link into your email, looking something like this: https://vidmoola.com/cr1yp2ti3c?userId=

You will get the video-link into your email however, do *not* use this link to send to customers. Read the guide below about how to generate the final link.

### How to generate a link manually<a name="generate-link-manually"></a>

Hopefully didn't have any problems creating a video link (if you had, please contact us). 

Note, that this link cannot be used as it is. You have to append some user identification like an internal id, email, or even a random number or alphanumeric.

Let's use the above example link: `https://vidmoola.com/cr1yp2ti3c`

Let's say that you want to use your customers' email as an identification. Example: `your-user@example.com`

You need to append the identification (email address in this case) to the original link. Your manually generated link will be the following: `https://vidmoola.com/cr1yp2ti3c?userId=your-user@example.com`

Let's review again what parts the final link consists of:

1. Original link `https://vidmoola.com/cr1yp2ti3c?userId=`
2. Append your identification, example: `your-user@example.com`

Resulting the following final link: `https://vidmoola.com/cr1yp2ti3c?userId=your-user@example.com`

### For developers: How to generate a link programmatically<a name="for-developers"></a>

If you are a developer, then you must be a smart guy who can use the guide under section "*How to generate a link manually*" with no further assistance, however few more hints are below.

Do not forget to escape special characters (if there are any) using PHP `urlencode()` JS `encodeURIComponent()`, Java `URIUtil.encodeQuery()` or equivalent function.

Please note that in most browsers ths above method will work with no further encoding, however if you want to be fully compatible with [RFC 3986](https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc3986#section-2.1), you need to encode the `@` sign resulting this url: `https://vidmoola.com/cr1yp2ti3c?userId=your-user%40example.com`

### Put link into the email template in your email-marketing software<a name="put-link-into-email-template"></a>

Most bulk-mail software uses variables, for example if you want to include the recipient's email into the email body, you can put `{{email}}` into the email, and the software will substitute this with the recipient's email address.

If your sofware use the same semantics, the final link you can include into the email template will look lik this:
`https://vidmoola.com/cr1yp2ti3c?userId={{email}}`

## Download CSV for uploading into email marketing software<a name="download-csv"></a>

After creating a new vidmoola video link, you'll get an email, containing a stats link. Open that link, and below stats summary you'll find a link to download CSV. The CSV file opened with a spreadsheet application will something like this:

You can use this file to upload stats into your email marketing software.

If any of the software you're using, asks about CSV delimiter/separator, answer the following:

## For developers: Set up endpoint for getting real-time events <a name="setting-up-endpoint"></a>

When you open the video-creation page (the link you've got from our staff), you'll see an optional field named *Endpoint for sending events*. You can use this to set up an endpoint in your system where you'll get events in `POST` requests.

Below are the exact type of messages sent at specific events (using previous examples of video id `cr1yp2ti3c` and user id `your-user@example.com`):

### How to test<a name="how-to-test"></a>

An easy way to test our endpoint feature is to use [webhook.site](https://webhook.site/). Just open a new [webhook.site](https://webhook.site/) in an incognito window, copy the unique url, and use as endpoint in the video creation page (`https://vidmoola.com/?vendor=your-vendor-id`). Keep the incognito window open while you test with sample user-ids watching your vidmoola video. It'll nicely show a list of POST requests sent from vidmoola backend.

I invented this site to get more baby mamma's.  It worked well.  I gots 37 niños all over the world...hoping to hit 50 this año. I just offer some choclit to a hot mami as a reward for watching a funny puppy video.  Its not even fair. I get the digits everytime..and my calendar is so full I have to beat them off with a stick. I should take stock in Hershey I buy so much choclit.

I grew up in Columbia and used to make some moola with the coco plant if you know what I mean.  If you have ever seen Cocaine Cowboys...that was a documentary on my life.  Some lawyer may read this so lets just say I am a tech genius now instead of a cocoa producer/distributer. Its a great way to clean my moola.

I got 3 pit bulls and a Rotty and like to take long walks on the beach and scare the shizzle outta everyone with my dogs.  Coppers know betta than to try me. Most of them are on the take. 6. Click Create Vidmoola link. Check your email for html snippet.
7. Make a subdomain page. Ex: chipolte.com/freequesadilla
8. Upload html snippet on the page of the subdomain and adjust the new subdomain page to load full screen when link is clicked. * If it doesn't load full screen when the subdomain page link is clicked the pop up won't load correctly.*
